Privacy Policy

Feesh, by justatree.dev. Last updated 14 August 2026.

Feesh has no accounts and keeps no records. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to, and no database. The only thing you tell us is the name you type before you swim, and that lives in the server's memory until you disconnect.

What you send us

That is the entire list. There is no chat, no messaging, no friends list, and no way to send anything else to another player.

What we keep

Nothing, in the ordinary sense of the word. The game server holds your name, your position and your score in memory for as long as your connection is open, and drops all of it the moment you disconnect. It writes nothing to a disk or a database — there is no database — and everything resets when the server restarts, which happens whenever we deploy an update.

Your IP address

Your connection has an IP address, as every internet connection does. We use it for one thing: refusing more than twelve simultaneous connections from the same address, so one person cannot flood the reef. It is held in memory with the connection and discarded when you leave. Our web server keeps no access logs.

If your connection sends a malformed message, we write a line to the server's error log recording the network your address belongs to — for example 203.0.113.0/24 — never the address itself. That tells us whether one network is misbehaving without recording anything about a person. Those logs rotate and are capped.

What is stored on your device

All of this stays on your device and is readable only by Feesh:

Your chosen name is also saved in a cookie for the justatree.dev domain, which lasts a year and is readable by the eight other games we run there, so that picking a name in one of them carries into the others. No server reads that cookie; it is a convenience for you. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it. In the iOS and Android apps this storage belongs to the app alone and is deleted when you uninstall it, and it never mixes with your browser.

What we do not do

The Android app includes Google Play's in-app review library because it ships as part of the standard toolkit, but Feesh never invokes it and it collects nothing on our behalf.

The iOS and Android apps

The apps are a native window around the same website. If the page hits a JavaScript error, the app writes it to your device's own system log so a crash can be diagnosed on the device — it is never sent anywhere. The app also counts how many times you have opened it, on the device, so it does not ask you to rate it during your first session.

Apple and Google may collect their own information about downloads and crashes under their own privacy policies. We do not control that, and we receive nothing from it that identifies you.

Children

Feesh is a cartoon game about fish and children are welcome to play it. We do not ask anyone's age, because we do not collect personal information from anyone and an age check would mean collecting a birth date in order to protect data we never gather.

There is one thing worth a parent's attention: the name box is free text, and whatever a player types there is shown to other players. A child could type something personal into it. It is the only place in the game where that is possible, and we would ask that you talk to younger players about choosing a silly name rather than a real one.

If you believe a child has published personal information through Feesh, contact us at the address below and we will remove it — although in practice a name disappears by itself the moment that player disconnects.

Deleting your data

There is no account to delete, because there is no account. Everything we hold about a session is gone when you close the game. To remove what is stored on your device, clear the site data for feesh.justatree.dev in your browser, or uninstall the app.

Where your data goes

Feesh runs on a single server in the United States. Your connection goes to it directly; we use no content delivery network and no third-party hosting for the game itself. If you play from outside the US, your gameplay reaches that server, which is inherent in playing an online game hosted there.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, or to object to its processing. We are glad to help, though the honest answer in almost every case is that we hold nothing to give you. Write to the address below and we will respond.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted on the game's start screen.

Contact

Questions, requests, or a report about another player's behaviour or name: __CONTACT_EMAIL__. We are justatree.dev, the developer of Feesh, and this is the fastest way to reach a person.
